I've been out of town and haven't kept up with my reading, but is this true? I'll stay off my soapbox for the time being, but I can hardly believe that people go so far with this stuff. Maybe I belong in a nice, cozy little mid-west town where God and family are still sacred. Maybe it's because I'm from such a town that I believe they are. Is it possible to take freedom too far? When the first Americans came here, they left a place that didn't agree with their beliefs. Can we ask anyone who doesn't agree with the original American beliefs to just go away? OK, I'm done now.

US Pledge of Allegiance Ruled Unconstitutional. Millions of American schoolchildren — including almost all adults who grew up in the US — have for two generations recited a daily pledge of allegiance in schools. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals today ruled that pledge to be a violation of the US Constitution. Social conservatives are outraged, liberals are smirking, and many of us are just stunned.
